We are built to collect as little as possible. This policy explains the few things our website and our browser extension handle — and the many things they deliberately do not.

The short version
ShabbatCloud.com offers a website and a browser extension. The website collects information only when you contact us or request an assessment. The extension is privacy-first: it has no access to your browsing history, runs no scripts inside the pages you visit, and never receives a list of the sites you open. We do not sell your data to anyone.
The website (shabbatcloud.com)
When you fill in a contact or assessment form, you may provide your name, email, phone number, and a message. We send this to our service provider solely so we can respond to you. We do not sell, rent, or trade this information. The site is served through Cloudflare, which processes standard request data (such as IP address) to deliver and protect the site.
The browser extension
The extension was designed so that we learn as little about you as technically possible. Here is exactly how it behaves:
No history, no content scripts, no broad access
The extension never reads your browsing history, never injects content scripts into the pages you visit, and does not request any broad "read and change data on all websites" permission.
Only the tab you choose, on demand
It inspects only the tab you are actively viewing, and only when you invoke it — this is the standard activeTab permission. It does not watch your other tabs or run quietly in the background.
Matching happens on your device
The site registry is downloaded to your browser and matched locally, on your device. Because the comparison never leaves your computer, we never learn which specific site you are viewing.
The only network calls it makes
The extension contacts the network for just three things: coarse-location Shabbat times (from Hebcal, via our worker), the site-registry snapshot it downloads to match locally, and any report you explicitly choose to submit. Nothing else leaves your device.
What we store
Extension settings stay local
Your extension preferences and settings live locally in your browser. They are not transmitted to us.
Reports you submit
When you choose to submit a report, it includes the text you type and, if you add one, an optional email address. We use it only to review the report and follow up if needed.
No tracking, no ads, no third-party analytics
The extension contains no advertising, no third-party analytics, and no behavioral tracking. The website is served and protected through Cloudflare. We do not build advertising profiles and we do not sell data.
